Title:  Signs in KPE
Closing Date: 23/01/2008

We observed that some motorists are undecided about using the KPE tunnel, resulting in last minute lane switches. Advanced traffic signs are located at 600m and 300m ahead of entrance slips, while another is placed just before the slip road. There are also additional temporary signs to guide motorists unfamiliar with the new road. Do you think there are sufficient signs to guide you when travelling in the KPE?

    Hi,

It would be good that LTA can put up more Speed Limit sign.eg every 1Km interval both side of the road. As for some other expressway some of the sign has already been block by plants.or can even paint it on the road to remind the driver.

Well i think during heavy downpour, it is better not to switch on headlight or too much reflections causing blind.

I agree with Vincent that we must switch on the headlight in the tunnel. Now hardly anybody do it.

The situation is the same with CTE tunnel. We are encourage but nobody care.

Singaporean think that as long as I can see so I don't need to switch on the headlight. But the headlight is not only for you to see but to be seen. This happen during a heavy downpour, most drivers do not switch on their headlight too.

Maybe the drivers think that by switching the headlight on, the car battery life will be shorten? What is more important, your life or a few dollars?

Signs on gantries are the best as they could tie directions to the specific lane. Another advantage is that they would not be easily blocked by trees. Althugh they are not 100% perfect, I always find gantries useful on Malaysian roads and highways.
